Overly Perky Banana Spin

28 March 2009

i am very thankful i caught the last bus home
and when i got out of the bus the ground was wet with rain but it wasn’t raining (fortunately for me!) so my shoes remained dry hooray
(yes can you believe it every day i have to strategise and worry about my shoes in case they get wet from the rain, hahaha sucker)

and so here’s the feeling of Dead Tired
i want very much to sleep but i cannot due to some potent, nonethess lovely, Banana Spin

this immediate riffraff aside, i haven’t felt so alone for a while now

i hope the week ahead will go a little more towards my way

A Non-Entity

21 March 2009

there is always a reason why things happen this way and not that, never in that way you would most want it to, consciously or not

so now you know why, now you know why you cannot be truly liberated and there lies this cross for you to bear (but think again, Perspective makes it a cross – after all what Is, and what Is Not?)
the placement of this association is routine, structured in the means of a reserve and most of all, expected
beyond and above any hope of its disappearance it will always stay put in its place
because it is essential, it has always been essential and will remain so, as something that does not mean anything beyond its worth as material, but nonetheless essential whether you like it or not

live with it, or no i will not, but then again i will (because i have to)

speaking in this narrative reminds me of Samuel Beckett’s ‘Texts for Nothing’ and i don’t like it one bit

i murmur

Here We Are

8 March 2009

good day sunlight
i’d like to say how truly bright you are

you know, admittedly jason mraz isn’t the Best in the whole world
and admittedly i can’t exactly picture him winning the Grammy for Best Vocalist over john mayer (although nevertheless a little voice inside me wished it might have been so ha ha)

but i like him so much -
the wit the charm
the songs i can see where he comes from
the songs from a long way i can see where i have come
the ease and spontaneity with which he sings and makes you feel (like nothing else matters)
the unaffectedness the real the good heart
most of all the way he takes you away while he sings right there in front of you
and to set it straight he may not be the Best but he is SO DAMN GOOD LIVE

so he played the usual suspects from We Sing, We Dance and We Steal Things
and unexpected songs from the older albums (would love to have heard more old favourites from the first album though, but good enough hahaha)
better still he played some awesome unreleased songs (you’d know if you’re a pirate like me)
the singapore indoor stadium remains far from being the ideal concert arena, but as all things go
(and as God’s blessings would have it i met a lovely pair of people who made all it possible for me to get there in time, am absolutely thankful)
as always,
I HAD A MIND-BLOWING RIDE!

you don’t know me but i know you
you’re my favourite

maybe i should send him this -
