Of These Strange Steps

12 November 2009

What do you live for, and for whom?

What does it take to be Living enough?

What are you Doing?

tonight i face reality, choices and existential issues

the end of the year isn’t too far away, and already i can feel the impending ennui, which is scary

static, stateless, blank

to be doing and yet not quite so; like in a vacuum where all noise is shut up and out

(i think it is now more than ever that i wish i were away)

(but then again, maybe this will pass)

what a dreary day.

It’s Blitz!

wheat noodles steeped in thick black bean paste sauce with flavoursome diced meat and vegetables and juicy mushrooms to boot (a customisation to suit my needs)

most appetising when slurped and gobbled up like nobody’s business

almost like the real deal (i should think)!

mmm : )

desperate and in need

dear God,

I IMPLORE YOU

please let me find a (preferably instantaneous) source of inspiration to writing my wretched essay!

i’ve been thinking about it for so long to no avail; my brains are about to come out of my ears!

please give me direction, so i can direct my essay : (

Amen.

5 November 2009

of late my posts have been nothing positive (because there hasn’t been anything to cheer about)

so this is my Indian Horoscope for today
Difficult day with low energy and mood to avoid critical meeting today causing general low outlook. Chances of losing money so avoid major money transactions. Mostly a distracted day.

not quite so accurate – the word ‘distracted’ should be replaced with ‘dreadful’, ‘disastrous’, ‘disgusting’

yea well you get the drift

Warning: The Following May Be Hazardous/Offensive To Some

21 October 2009

but i am going ahead with what i want to say anyway, this is my blog!

i hate Singapore Idol because the judges are constantly fixated with giving comments regarding their looks (YOU LOOK LOVELY! YOU LOOK SEXY! YOU LOOK LIKE A PUMPKIN! THIS CONTEST IS ABOUT YOUR GLASSES! with regard to EVERY SINGLE CONTESTANT, just listen and see), and personality (you have to APPEAL TO THE MASSES! DIFFERENT EQUATES WITH BAD! NOT GOOD IF YOU’RE IE A ROCKER CHICK! p.s look at adam NOT GOOD IF I THINK YOU HAVE A DULL PERSONALITY! I WON’T GIVE YOU CREDIT FOR YOUR SINGING BECAUSE BOTTOMLINE IS YOUR IDENTITY IS BORING!)
of course these elements are important, but to put all focus onto them instead of their music
like, if put in figures, Miscellaneous Comments (meaning those pertaining to anything not quite related to music) would take up say 99% of Total Comments; plus how much of it is actually constructive criticism?!
of the show there is no originality, nothing to shock you out of your sedate couch-potato position, no excitement, no inspiration
singing competition my backside

and the stage is so ugly and small and the sound system really sucks from the way i hear it on television and the lighting serves the basic purpose of say flourescent lights in your study room

and stale jokes and annoying small-talk about things i really can’t care less about on the part of the host

and then this guy tried to sing some Jason Mraz. ???????????????????????????????????????????

shit

never spoiling my dinner this way again

Grand Machine No. 14

8 October 2009

during a blissfully quick lecture one day about the Change that international and regional organisations are facing today, my professor showed us a video that essentially commented on the the astonishing effects of globalisation – Shift Happens
for better or for worse, you can decide for yourself

here though, is the third version of the Did You Know? video by Karl Fisch and Scott McLeod that i could find (might be familiar to some)

(the fourth and latest version i felt was all too much about only the convergence of media so i put that up instead, but here it is anyway if you happen to be interested)
not necessarily a portrayal of absolute predictability or truth, but astoundingly intense and thought-provoking all the same, all about the very things we subscribe to (with pretty much Constructivist undertones minus the positivity i feel ha ha or would you consider it Realist)

all fibres of the inevitable greater fabric mmhmm

i really feel like dying right now, feel like dying and even singing won’t help (unless it is in korean)

first of all i was feeling rather zzz yesteryesterday because this group member didn’t agree with ALL of my suggestions and we ended up with his idea (must i also add that is it extremely dry and boring and above all difficult to put into korean words, much less MEMORISE it)

but then i thought okay fine forget it i don’t have any energy to think anymore let’s just get this over and done with plus i can always have fun with the graphics in the powerpoint slides that would add depth to our presentation’s interest value

and then today after a good ten million hours of doing my excruciating part, my other groupmate told me that he has dropped out of korean

WHAT A BOMBSHELL

because i never thought dropping a module at this stage would be possible (korean at that!) and also i didn’t think that he would seriously drop korean (like just talk only) moreover our presentation is just next week

now we’re stuck with this unappealing topic

i just want to die right now really womagawd…

Larger Than Life

24 September 2009

it’s such a beautiful day!

after it rained this morning the weather was as cool as cucumber, and when the clouds cleared further there was good ol’ lovely sunshine! not anything like the sun that beats down into your skin, and no sign of the usual muggy and stifling sticky heat
today is all clear, crisp and azure – ALL ABOUT RENEWAL AND CALM
very beautiful indeed (nice one there, God)

good weather bides good moods (if only it is like this every day…)

the ideal Perfection of today would be that of reading a book on a rooftop somewhere, with a nice big glass of orange juice, with awesome music to boot please

but it is tragically apparent that we do lack the luxury of Time

still, have a great day!
